The LA3 - HE tab consists of fields relating to higher education courses.
The fields on the tab are described in the following table.

| Inst Year Type | Identifies which of the four basic types of programme year is applicable to the learner. |
| HEIFES Mode | The mode of study expressed in terms of the HEFCE Higher Education Students Early Statistics (HESES) definitions. |
| HEIFES Level | The level of the programme of study, expressed in terms of the HEFCE Higher Education Students Early Statistics (HESES) definitions. |
| Learner FTE | Represents the institution’s judgement of the full-time equivalence of the learner during the year. |
| HE Programme Year | Indicates the year of the programme that the learner is currently studying. |
| Major Fees Source | The major source of tuition fees for the learner. |
| Other Inst Prop | The percentage represented by this field denotes the proportion not taught by the returning institution. |
| S' Class 1 Prop | The proportion of LDCS fields indicating the relative percentage of the current year of programme of study that the LDCS subject area(s) make up. |
| S' Class 2 Prop | Fields H33, H34, and H35 should be considered as a block of related data. |
| S' Class 3 Prop | See above. |
| Special Fee Indicator | Records any special or non-standard fees. |
| ELQ | Whether a student is aiming for an Equivalent or Lower Qualification (ELQ) than one already achieved. |
| HE Centre Location |
The HE Centre where the learner undertakes their tuition. Drop-down of records from the Study Locations reference data. This field will automatically populate HE Post Code if there is a post code set for the record selected. |
